Today is the day that the All Things Local website goes live! I found out about All Things Local through Babes in Business in June during my search for more stockists. I emailed back and forth a few times with Anne, who owns the store, and brought her some samples of my art. Often, when I bring my art to potential stockists, boutiques, and galleries, they pick a few pieces, and I go home with the rest. Anne liked them all, and asked if I could make more! Of course, I said, "yes." I spent the last two weeks in August making art nonstop for All Things Local. If you need proof, here is a photo I took of our living room during those few weeks in August. Luckily, I have boyfriend who didn't mind that I commandeered the living room...even though I have a studio. Sometimes I just need to spread out on the floor with a semicircle of art and art supplies around me. I know I'm not the only one! So, as you can imagine, I am very exited that today is the day the website goes live. I have been working and waiting for almost six months, and I can only imagine how Anne and her employees must feel. This has been a dream of Anne's for a while, and I am so happy and excited for her and her staff! All Things Local is a very cool concept. There is a brick and mortar store at 19 Mechanic Street in Red Bank, New Jersey AND the website. Shoppers can go through the store or the site to buy items individually OR put them together to create a personalized gift box. As you may have guessed from the name, everything is local and/or handmade in the US. There is even an option to search for items made in New Jersey. Everything is amazing and carefully curated by Anne and her staff. Take time to go through the site and store to see all the wonderful work by our local artists, artisans, and makers. Here is a sneak peek of some of the art I have available at the store and online... Moral of the story: Work hard.
Underlying message: Check out All Things Local, and don't stop yourself from typing "Rachel Mambach" into the search field if you're feeling tempted ;)
